A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

When I'm not at the studio making art, I might be working at the local library, cooking, reading, or traveling.

2. Why do you make art?

I make art because it's always been the thing I'm best at. I don't remember an age where I wasn't making art.

3. What inspires you?

I am inspired by life lived simply: enjoying my home, cooking good meals for my friends, going on walks with loved ones, staying connected to my local community. These values show up in my art as I love to paint homes, gardens, rural landscapes, and villages.

4. What/who are your influences?

Some artists who have particularly influenced me over the years are Henri Matisse, Edward Hopper, and Richard Diebenkorn.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Steve Tannen and Deb Talan of the folk-pop duo, The Weepies. I know. That's two people.
